Minimum Requirements:
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Complete a thorough background investigation
  • Pass a drug screening and hearing test
  • Work a variety of shifts, days, hours, weekends and holidays
  • Complete the minimum set standard of on the job training Essential Functions
  • Answer incoming 9-1-1 and administrative calls quickly and professionally
  • Ability to process and determine appropriate response for emergency and non-emergency calls
  • Ability to multi-task in a high stress, high call volume
  • Understanding of computer aided dispatch (CAD) systems, various mapping programs, state and federal computer systems and radio equipment
  • Handle high stress situations in a calm, professional manner
  • Occasionally deal with hysterical and uncooperative callers
